Back in November 2012 we took Byzantium over from Kerrie McLaughlin who set the restaurant up in 2008. Kerrie and her team brought their expertise from Horts wine bar in town and set up the framework of the menu. Over the past 10 years we have had several illustrious chefs before Antonello the current head chef stepped into the role.
One chef, however, holds a very special place in our heart - our very own Wesley Pinnock or "Uncle Chef" who wrote the original menu and taught us all we know. Wesley is now living it up in Los Angeles, where he has been resident for the past 8 years, but we will NEVER forget him. His model of calm, controlled and measured creativity has kept the flame and passion burning here at Byzantium for ten years.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and fabulous Kings Heath neighbours, you’re what makes York Road such a special little place and without you we simply wouldn’t be here.
